TME Favorite Albums of 2013: #11-15

15.  Arcade Fire – Reflektor

Album has not sunk in yet.  I think in time this album will be much higher on the list.  Arcade Fire change up their sound and bring disco into the mix.  They definitely don’t let their sound get stale.

14.  Boy & Bear – Harlequin Dream

Their earlier music was more of a throwback to 70’s rock.  Last album went away from that a little bit.  They dive back into that sound on this album.  Good choice.

13.  Radical Face – The Family Tree: The Branches

Catchy singer/songwriter.  The hint is in the name of the album.  Ben Cooper is an excellent storyteller through his lyrics.

12.  City and Colour – The Hurry and the Harm

Dallas Green continues to put out excellent albums.  Not as good as “Little Hell” but pretty close.  It is a little more lo-fi this time around.

11.  Midlake – Antiphon

Tim Smith leaving the band might be the best thing that happened to them.  Eric Pulido took over vocal duties and knocked it out of the park.  Take a band like Katatonia and make them more upbeat and you have “Antiphon.”  Huge upgrade over their previous work.
